From warm interiors to lush oriental gardens, her paintings express the beauty of the human figure in various environments and reflect the journey that she has taken from her native China to Northern California.
Zian's sensual figures are influenced by the Pre-Raphaelites and Chinese brush paintings as well as by the portraits she observed her grandfather painting when she was a young girl.
Zian's heritage traces back to Xizhi Wang, the most famous calligrapher in the history of China. She went to traditional art school, the Academy of Art in Hangzhou, China, to take some drawing and painting classes, and then went to the Academy of Art in San Francisco, CA.
Now living and painting in San Francisco, her figurative style is characterized by soft brushwork and expressive use of color and light. Commissioned portraits are available upon request at Gallerie Amsterdam. We at Gallerie Amsterdam are very proud to introduce her breathtaking and romantic style to all.
