Mikhail Rybin was born on December 25, 1961 in Krasnayarsk, central Siberia. At a very early age Rybin exhibited an insatiable hunger for knowledge. His areas of interest were in the study of history and mathematics.
As a young man, Rybin was able to combine these passions into the study of architecture. His focus being, the turn of the century. A period in Russia, when architecture was truly inspired and original. His formal education came to completion with his final thesis on "Genre Architecture- Old Moscow and St. Petersburg - 19th century eclectic".
Having found the perfect outlet for his interests Rybin was anxious to begin his career as an architect. However, shortly after leaving school it became frighteningly apparent that there was a great difference between what architects were taught in school and what they were actually able to bring to fruition.
Frustrated and unwilling to compromise his strong beliefs for a "career" in architecture, Rybin chose rather to use his skills as an architect to display the period for which he had so much respect. Rybin chose to depict these scenes on the very traditional form of an egg.
Through his painting, Mikhail Rybin is able to achieve the freedom that he was incapable of attaining in architecture.
