Deborah DeLasaux was born in 1970 in the tiny village of Los Angeles,
California. An art prodigy at an early age, Deborah began her life as
an artist while just a child. The winner of numerous artistic awards
as a youth, Deborah received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree with an
emphasis in drawing and painting from California State University, Long
Beach in 1997. She also studied for two years at the American
Animation Institute in North Hollywood, California.
Deborah began her professional career working for the Walt Disney
Corporation, where she spent nine years as she continued her art
education. For the past ten years she has served as Art Director for
fine art publisher Mark Alan Fine Art while at the same time working on
her own masterpieces. Her one-woman shows, among others, include:
Santa Ana Arts District, Santa Ana, California; Marion Meyer
Contemporary Art in Laguna Beach, California and Players Fine Art, Las
Vegas, Nevada.
DeLasaux's work can currently be seen at several galleries throughout
the country, including: Gallerie Amsterdam, Carmel, California; Bella
Arte Gallery, Pittsburgh, PA ; Players Fine Art, Las Vegas, Nevada;
Art Center Gallery, Orange County, Ca.; Gallerie Hawaii and Shipstore
Gallery, both in the Hawaiian Islands.
Deborah counts among her influences Toulouse-Lautrec, Alphonse Mucha,
and sculptor Louise Nevelson. She refers to her work as "Contemporary
Vintage Poster Art," taking the elements of the vintage poster masters
and combining it with her modern flair. Deborah currently resides in
Belmont Shore, California with her daughter, seven year old Iris Lilly,
an aspiring artist herself.
